A first person account of Weezer's sold-out show in Boston - tune into the the concert film on Moment.

In my 2+ years working with Moment, my focus has been on expanding the reach of in-person shows to global online audiences, and working with creator teams on the marketing and operations of digital events. For Weezer’s Moment, I was able to go a layer deeper, and join our amazing production partner (YesChef Productions) in Boston to capture Weezer's Voyage to the Blue Planet: The Concert Film. The experience left me energized and inspired.

As my team entered the sold out show at Boston’s TD Garden, we were struck by the sheer size of the audience - the stadium was packed with thousands of excited fans. The energy in the room was palpable.

The show itself was part of The Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour - a tribute to the 30th anniversary of their career defining, self-titled debut album Weezer (aka the ‘Blue Album’). Weezer’s music, and this legendary album, which features hits such as "Say It Ain't So”, has woven its way into the soundtrack of so many fans’ life moments, memories, and connections. It was evident how meaningful it was for fans to get to experience this performance, 30 years after the album’s release. The feeling in the audience was nostalgic and passionate - every song brought a new wave of excitement from the crowd.

Seeing the breadth of their work, and the ravenous fan reaction as they performed hit after hit was striking. But the most motivating aspect for me was knowing that beyond the packed stadium was a global fanbase who wished they could be there - and the work that my team does would help bring this to them. Through the three broadcasts of the concert film (scheduled with different time zones in mind), and the 24-hour VOD period, those who couldn’t attend the show in person can have a chance to enjoy it.

And the cherry on top? Exclusive new merch only available through Moment! This is merch that isn’t available on tour—it’s a special offering to go along with the concert film.

We’ve partnered with Crush Management to make all of this happen, and I couldn’t be more proud of what our teams brought to life. Seeing the impact this band has had on its fans, I’m honored to have played a part of making this Moment available to everyone.

Check out Weezer’s show on Moment here, available through 10/15.
