#ThankYouPatrons — All 4 million of you ❤️
November 18, 2019
On November 19, 2019 we celebrate the real MVPs — patrons. It's #ThankYouPatrons day, and we're thanking the 4 million patrons who have sent over $1 billion to creators.
“I couldn’t have done this without you. Truth is, I wouldn’t want to do it without you. You make every part of this process so fun.” — Drew Ackerman, host of Sleep With Me podcast.
Today is, hands down, our favorite day of the year — #ThankYouPatrons Day! If you’re joining us for the first time, welcome to our third year of celebrating this incredibly special holiday (that we happily created ourselves). It’s a day dedicated to the people who are bringing the new creative economy to life.
Patrons are the driving force behind this new model. They’re choosing to be more than followers and instead, becoming active participants in the creative process. By deepening the connection they have with artists, they’re completely changing the way art is valued. We think that deserves a very enthusiastic tip of the hat.
That’s enough from us. Let’s hear what creators are saying.
This year is extra special because we’re celebrating two huge milestones on #ThankYouPatrons Day. First, we’re so excited to announce that creators all over the world have officially earned over $1 billion on Patreon. And they did it with the direct support of the now 4 million patrons using the platform — that’s an increase of a million patrons in less than a year!
1 billion and 4 million. Those are huge numbers. Let’s add some context.
The internet would have to watch 131.6 billion ads to make creators as much revenue. No one should have to go through that.
- If all our patrons bought tickets to the Louvre, they’d sell it out for 143 days straight. We louvre that.
- People would have to stream Old Town Road for a combined 836,695 years to generate a billion dollars in revenue. Streammm, till you can’t no more.

And to join us in celebrating patrons, head to Twitter or your favorite social channel and share a little love and gratitude with your biggest fans.
So, it’s settled. Patrons are the real MVPs. They're not just changing the game, they're changing lives.
Thank you, patrons! Till next year.
